Why Rapid Realty is the biggest scam in the universe:
They are focusing on cheap rentals in areas that will be drowned in the flood once global warming swallows New York. They are making tons of money putting people into buildings with slum lords, apts that the tenants will soon leave, and the damage is negligible to them since, as I said, in a few years, most of these areas will be under water. I live in greenpoint. I am a victim idiot myself, can't wait to get back to the stuy! Except that I love it here... awesome landlord and tree lined block.

Rapid Realty IS in fact the biggest scam in NYC and its scary that they are still in business. Even though we did get the apartment....we wouldn't have gotten it if we didn't call the landlord and mangement company ourselves. Rapids so called "professionals" are ignorant...incompitent....and GHETTO. The "owner" Ms GOODWIN is a neurotic nutcase who is unorganized with a horrible selection of english. I'm a black woman..and let me tell you....she is embarrassing! She tried to scam us ..talk over us. Not until I got on the phone with her and demanded after a week of these people holding our deposit..to give us a damn response. Of course the apt we put a deposit on was already rented. Nobody cares...nobody is professional and I have the video to prove it......STAY AWAAAAAY FROM RAPID REALTY!

this was not my experience with rapid realty i was treated well and my agent was courteous and professional oh well...
At Rapid Realty, we know that the only thing better than the feeling of helping someone find a new home is the feeling of giving back to the community no matter what neighborhood. These are just one of the examples of Rapid's commitment to community development.
We would love to see the video and hopefully that agent that did not treat you with the common courtesy Rapid Realty is known for will be handled with accordingly.

dumb asses is what i call them...i went all the way cross town on mass transit believing that i would see some apts. i get there the guy that was my agent wasnt even there then the guy that offered to help didnt know what the hell he was doing...so i told him nevermind ill wait for the other guy. the guy finally shows up then he got the nerve to rush me into seeing places that dont interest me . finally were on our way to see a place. we finally get there, walk into the building and the building smells like hot asshole .smdh... the super finally comes and he tells us that someone lives in the damn apt. ..... o-0 ! and the broker thats with me is clueless...wtf ....never again ..those dumbasses!
They tried to bounce a check off of me when I asked for my CASH deposit back. Took them over 4 days to give me a check that bounced, horrendous. Rapid Realty = Scammers.
rapid realty are indeed a scam. I am currently homeless and i work 3 jobs i dont have time to look or go to any appointments but my agent said not to worry that he understands and offered to help me he found an apartment and sent me pictures and i agreed because i had no other choice.I gave a deposit to hold an apartment. i was schedule to go see it and i never went because i had to work.
i had a tragedy in my life where my mother died and i couldnt pay the landlord the rest of the money so i said never mind can i just have my money and i will come back when i get my money up again. He said i made him look like an ass and "NOPE" you are not getting your money back just like that word for word. is there something i can do?
Unfortunately, Rapid Realty cannot be a scam nor can it be squeaky clean, it's simply not built that way. I've told them that customers only see RAPID REALTY no matter how cut up the structure really is. There are groups of offices that work independently and on top of that, each agent is their own independent contractor/business.
When you deal with Rapid or similar set-ups, it's about the individual AND the office. Even outside of Rapid, you have to find the right person to work with. It's not electronics retail, it's an older, less structured industry.
Not to say that grievances are invalid, just that being more specific can help out a lot more. Next time, note the exact office or individual (Goodwin). it's way more effective in seeing if it's isolated or common circumstances.
Hi. My wife and i are being victims of the same scam to the letter. Would you recommend. A phone number to complain? Also we are being asked for the agents commission even before we make a credit check and approved. I was even gonna try to work for rapid. I dont wanna be a scammer i wanna be a sells man
To complain contact Department of State http://www.dos.ny.gov/licensing/complaint.html or Complaints@dos.ny.gov. DOS issues real estate licenses and they can take it away for violations of code of conduct and scamming. They can even take the company's license away because of the agents activities because the company is responsible for all their agents activities. I know all this because I once was a real estate agent, for a good company though not these scammers.

Yall are so pathetic. You guys have this much time to write such negative comments and feedback about a company who is currently growing and you cant understand that sometimes mistakes are made? And yes there are a few asshole agents that could do way better with how they smell, with how they talk, and they can be more proffessional too... but Rapid Realty is a good agency to start off for any new agent and you learn whats needed to succeed in the business. And if you guys want to get professional service, the Glendale Rapid Realty office is the best one in NYC.
How can a Rapid employee get on here and call people Pathetic for writing reviews? Is it because all of Rapids employees are assholes? Because a professional would never do that. Furthermore even though agents are independent contractors they represent an entire company. Maybe the company should invest more in ethics training at their academy. I have never worked at Rapid nor have I been a customer.
I went on an interview with them yesterday and my initial thought was that Rapid is a scam, hence why I'm doing a review search.
I was told I had to give them 350 to work there. When I asked what it covered they said for me to get my license. Once I told them I have my license it turned into its for their academy. I said I never heard of a broker charging 350. They said most brokers charge desk fees and don't provide extensive training which is another lie.
I asked if they use mls they said no. So all sellers out there just know if you list with Rapid your listing will not be on mls. Why? Because they're greedy and not fulfilling their fiduciary responsibility of bringing you all possible offers. Why? Because they want to list and sell it them selves for a bigger commission. They're working for themselves not you...
