if the us wants to remain a sovereign state...

So I have been thinking about the insanely bloated rent in NY, among other inflated prices all over the economy, and I am thinking - if we price adjust while redistributing the wealth, that does kind of create more opportunities (I should say people, really) to hold onto and redirect currency, right? We would still all live in caste system relegated apartments, but since the guy in the penthouse doesn't have to pay as much, he can take the hit to his income and therefore when we give what we took from his income to someone with barely any at the moment, we are getting someone else into a lower priced housing situation. Is this so juvenile and obvious that it makes you nauseous to read? It means we lose some cache, but it keeps us from being prey to foreigners who CAN pay the bloated prices but have no real investment in U.S. economic well-being, right?
