PLEASE?
this is HALF speed - my toy piano keys slide... on the juno - dude...
please help me convince my old band, as a birthday present to play this song with me again. For fairness sake I summon foxy, hunter, zach, and stefan. If, for some crazy reason, Ben and Tony are more down, SWEEEEEEET!
BEST IDEA IN AWHILE!!
When I was in tenth grade I dressed up as a dark haired courtney love for halloween - someone should dress up like Courtney Love in the "Miss World" video and sing Miss World for the tlent portion - AMAZING!!!
OR F'IN DUH
Do what people proposed years ago and make myspace into a pay-site so it's direct artist to listener, then pay-sites like myspace become the labels. The photos and audience contact might make it easier for people to deal with - free for the artists but you have to pay to login as a listener. how to keep this from becoming a monopoly - the world may never know.
OR
In the most evil of all possible worlds - if awesome artists can only make money by letting advertising use their songs - then we have nazi taste making but if awesome taste makers are in power - that's awesome.
how to make money off recorded music and deal with internet downloading
So I know this guy whose dad is working on a music device that is basically an ipod that is attached to the internet. The device finds similar music based on what is playing and locates more like it. I am sure that, even with an itunes-esque pay structure, there would be a way to hack these things and circumvent payments - Not if the makers of these devices were labels themselves. Then the device, maintainence, etc., would be built into the musicians being paid - the record and the label are here becoming the same thing - do away with labels, they are middle men, let the device, since it already has a PR team and distribution team, let that device take care of band marketing and you also have a very easy way to track how much artists make since it's a download structure. Amazing.
Is this just Prog?
Hippie Black Metal - Psychedelic industrial
I really like the idea of psychedelic industrial though I have a feeling that would be a way to describe my band in high school.
Reverse Contrapositive as Applied to Being Attractive: a joke.
Remember, the reverse contrapositive isn't always true - just because everyone they're boning is really ugly doesn't mean that, if they bone me, I am very ugly.
Fear vs. Intelligence (unfortunately, at the moment, not a band reference)
When I was younger, I made tons of assumptions based on the little information I had at hand and created large scale theories based on those minimal facts. Some of these turned out to be geniusly correct; others, embarrassingly false. I now feel, for the most part, immensely paralyzed/afraid to make such broad theories because I want to have more facts, but the fear of being wrong prevents me from fact gathering. Is this the American Plight or a justification of laziness? Is this just being afraid of letting go of rigor and writing your own aphorisms for awhile?
I had one I liked two years ago on X-mas that I kinda tried to write at the time - "If artists are going to be romanticized as free spirits who engage in drug culture lets be honest about what we are doing - we are sending good minds out to the battlefield of chemicals, submersing them, making them fight for their lives, and marveling at what remains after the experiment. We can't all go bat-shit crazy, but it's so awesome to watch and listen to those who are willing, right?" But this is in reference to a very fairytale, 60's, and a Fischer Price kind of "my first understanding of what an artist is." Still, while sitting in a closet, on x-mas, pondering psychedelics - made total sense.
That one goes in good contrast to one little brain fart of mine from middle school - "Why You Shouldn't Do Drugs" if you do drugs, drink too much, you hinder your memory. Doing anything that hinders your memory necessarily hinders growth since it hinders reflection. It's amazing how much people can change based on experience and context - Pragmatists, Pierce, genius.
Freshmen year of college I read Montaigne's essays. I was really turned on cause they are basically culture essay, usually starting with "on ____" written in the vernacular - an awesome step when Latin was being phased out. Maybe this should be my pet project for 2011 - interspersed can be the 20 or so art ideas I've had this year that are, as of yet, for many reasons, unexecuted. Think that will be the state of affairs while I work out this real estate license getting [that is somehow harder than I thought it would be.]
subject matter vs. style will make it kind of comedic... that's the idea
