and here is the real problem with "investments" that aren't based on companies - like investments in art or real estate - great, but it's only worth what your gallerists or agents are willing to say it's worth. That's why gentrification works. That is why there are bubbles. I feel fucking terrible for the nuevo-riche, being tantalized into using art for way more than they should in the hopes that, over time in the market, it will make sense. That is why Hirst is a genius for making "For the love of God." I've learned a lot, but I can't make any money. I believe that my position is the worst of all possible worlds. Candide hates me.
